Hi!

I’m Dr. Phoebe Moore, a clinical psychologist and leadership coach working in academic medicine. I spend much of my professional life supporting faculty, leading clinical work, mentoring people through complexity, and helping bright, over-functioning humans find a little more clarity, steadiness, and room to breathe.

I’m also increasingly interested in what happens at the edges of the measurable: the places where ritual, attention, imagination, symbol, and intention shape our lived experience.

I treat practices like meditation, visualization, tarot, and ritual more as practices than belief systems. You do not have to surrender your skepticism; I certainly haven’t. But I am curious about what becomes possible when rigor and wonder are allowed to sit at the same table.

Magic for Academics is a home for that exploration.

It is for academics, clinicians, caregivers, leaders, writers, overfunctioners, and anyone who has spent a lot of time being competent and excellent while simultaneously wondering whether there might be another way to live inside their own life. It is for people who value evidence and still feel the pull of mystery. For skeptics with tiny altars in their closets. For tired professionals with secret longing. For anyone who suspects that the practical and the magical might not be opposites.

Here you’ll find guided meditations, reflections, small practices, and invitations to experiment with attention, meaning, creativity, and inner steadiness.

Just a little more room for wonder, on purpose.
